ABOUT THE AUTHOR
T.C. Cottrell was born in 1944 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He graduated from College High School in Bowling Green and then entered Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green where he was awarded a bachelor's degree. He attended the State University of New York in Plattsburgh, New York in later life where he was awarded a master's degree.
He served in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot, command pilot, and instructor pilot for over 20 years. He was awarded five Air Medals and a Distinguished Flying Cross while flying combat missions in the Vietnam War into both South and North Vietnam. After 20 years of service he retired from the Air Force to seek new opportunities in civilian industry.
A second career spanning 27 years as a senior manger with a multi-national corporation providing support to government agencies throughout the world provided him the opportunity to travel across the world and to visit and spend time in war zones including in multiple locations in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
In the Spring of 2016 he retired from his second career and celebrated 50 years of marriage. He now has time to enjoy his children and grandchildren and to pursue his love of photography, writing, and genealogy research. His family's genealogy website can be found at the link below.
